Olea europea - Small Standard With such stunning and distinctive silvery foliage all year round and magnificent standard shaping, this Olive tree will make a superb focal point in any garden! During July and August, tiny and delicate cream flowers are produced which, in hot summers develop to produce edible olive fruits! Olea are a fantastic spectacle in Mediterannean themed gardens, and can be kept in containers for patio or doorstep decoration or planted along paths for more formal decoration! A sensational addition of evergreen colour and interesting sculptural shape! Current height: 1.30 metres (excluding pot) Eventual height: Up to 10 metres Diameter of head: 45cm Olives are slow growing plants, and their height can be maintained by growing in a container! Selective pruning can maintain the distinctive standard shaping quite easily! Aspect: Olives are best in full sun, in well-drained soil. Despite being hardy, olives are tender and will require frost protection.
